Ohio Copperheads home opener on Saturday, June 9th @ 7:05 pm at Bob Wren Stadium - $5 Tickets
Hi Athens Sandlot!
Hope this note finds you doing well and having a fantastic summer!
We are inviting you to the Southern Ohio Copperheads (AKA: the Cheads) home opener on Saturday, June 9th @ 7:05pm at Bob Wren Stadium.
We expect a great crowd, and are excited to have President Nellis throw out the first pitch!
General Admission is $5/ticket.
In addition, the Cheads offer delicious ballpark food and serve affordable cold beer to individuals 21 years or older (Jackie O’s beers, too for only $5/each!).
There are plenty of activities for families including free face painting, a bouncy house, and plenty of opportunities to engage with our friendly mascot named Homer who loves to hand out high fives and get kids to sing “take me out to the ballgame” on the dugout during the 7th inning stretch!
It truly is a great place to hang out whether you’re a baseball fan or not!
For those who are unaware, the Cheads is our summer “learning laboratory” for students who are interested in working in and around baseball. We have approximately 40 students (25 from the COB and 15 from Scripps School of Communication) working with the organization in different capacities.
The Cheads itself is comprised of collegiate baseball players from around the country, and the league includes teams from OH, MI, IN and Canada.
It’s a lot of fun and hope you will all consider coming out to a Cheads game this summer!

Thanks, and GO CHEADS!
