SANDLOT!
Athens Sandlot Baseball
is a private, not for profit 501(c)(3)
organization. It operates on the goodwill of the
people involved who volunteer their
time.
However, it does require funds
to provide equipment for the players, uniforms,
and to pay umpires. The city has
limited employees so Sandlot provides some
additional field maintenance equipment. Much
of it we've brought from home. The
league coaches and parents really are the
ones who keep the fields in the playing condition
they desire.
Additionally, Sandlot incurs
expenses to meet the league's continued
growth. This includes approximately $5000 in
new equipment for additional teams the last
two years. We also purchase $3000 in
baseballs & softballs for games each
year.
The concession stand is our
primary source of revenue leaving us approximately
$2000-$3000 at the end of the season which is used
for startup costs for the following season
(Baseballs and replacement equipment, stocking the
stand).
Due to these expenses, the
league needs your help and seeks your
support.
Your donation can be used in a
number of ways such as:

To pay for an underprivileged
child’s registration fee (60+ anticipated)
·
Flowers, shrubs or trees
· Maintenance equipment such as
rakes, shovels, brooms
· Baseball/softball
equipment
· Upkeep and maintenance of
riding mower and trimmers
·
Mulch for the flower beds
· Base locker/tool boxes for
Riverfront/Three Rivers
·
Field Conditioner to help with
drainage
·
Topsoil and grading on Three
Rivers
·
Picnic Tables and
bleachers
Due to these expenses, the
league needs your help and seeks your donations to
meet these expenses.
